LIVEABOARD DIVING Taking you to the best of the islands’ remote locations The world-famous dive sites of Wolf and Darwin are far from land and not accessible when day diving. Taking a liveaboard to these and some of our other wonderful, but remote, dive locations is the way to see the very best of the Galapagos. We can arrange your trip on a number of different specialised ultra-long-range dive boats, each offering a particular level of comfort and style - and a choice of diving itineraries.

MORE ABOUT OUR ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE Acquire an advanced certificate! Our advanced course will improve your SCUBA technique and introduce you to new diving experiences. The theory component is digital and students should complete this online prior to the practical sessions at home or in their holiday accomodation. The practical component provides for five dives - all completed while you are with us. Set out below is some information about how we generally stage the practical part of the Advanced course (note, some timings are variable according to whether you select our AM or PM schedule):

MORE ABOUT OUR OPEN WATER COURSE Acquire an internationally recognised certificate! Our Open Water Course is taught in two parts. The academic/theoretical component undertaken online, and the practical, hands-on component provided by us. To become a PADI Open Water Diver you must successfully complete all of the training exercises. Upon this, you will receive your certification, which permits you to dive to a maximum depth of 18m. OUR BOATS The platforms we rely upon Our boats are designed and equipped for comfort, safety, and seaworthiness, in the conditions that prevail in the Galapagos. Our own vessel, NINA, which we use for novice and refresher courses, is 7 m long and powered by an outboard engine that helps us to easily navigate to and from dive sites we use for training but is eco-friendly by way of displacement/horsepower. It has plenty of space for dry and wet storage and for kitting-up.

OUR DIVING - The courses and adventures we offer Expertly taught and fun to learn! PADI SSI Galapagos Dive Academy is affiliated with PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, and with SSI, Scuba Schools International. With a PADI or SSI certification you can dive in nearly 200 countries and territories, at thousands of dive centres and resorts.

OUR MAIN DIVE SITES Selected, safe and sheltered locations close to our dive centre and the town Our Novice and Refresher diver training sessions are mostly conducted in Academy Bay, so named by the California Academy of Sciences during an expedition conducted in 1905. Academia Bay lays aside Puerto Ayora, the largest town in the Galapagos, and is adjacent to the Charles Darwin Research Station. This was founded in 1959 to preserve and study the fauna and flora of the Galapagos Islands.
